What is addiction and dependency?
How often do we consider that addiction or dependency is a normal response to a person's suffering and past trauma, repeated habits, and subsequent learning? So why the stigma and why the shame? Why the isolation and why the loneliness? We all need connection; we all need care, and we all need to be understood.
Addiction or unhealthy attachments are not choices that anyone would willingly make.
How can I help?
Everyone is different, and each journey is individual. For this reason, I offer integrated, evidence-based counselling methods and coaching for people living with depression, anxiety, trauma and dependency and their significant others directly affected.
I aim to promote healthier ways of thinking and coping to alleviate low self-esteem, lack of motivation, substance use and behavioural addiction causing excessive guilt and shame.
My objective is to motivate and journey with you, encouraging positive change one step at a time.
My integrated approach includes:
Person-Centred Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Motivational Interviewing Techniques
12 Step facilitation
Relapse Prevention
Couples and family mediation
All my work is trauma-informed, meaning I follow the guiding principles of Safety, Choice, Collaboration, Trustworthiness and Empowerment.
